Our Story

I’m Matt, the owner of Total Renovations Limited, and I’m here to share my journey with you. Growing up in Hawkes Bay, I discovered my passion for building shortly after leaving school. Starting as an apprentice, I honed my skills on high-end new builds and renovations, but it was the charm of older homes like villas and bungalows that truly captured my attention.

My motivation for being in the building industry stems from my love for restoring older homes to their former glory. Over the years, I’ve tackled numerous high-end renovations, specializing in villa and bungalow restoration, architectural builds, and delivering top-notch results.

At Total Renovations Limited, we pride ourselves on our core values of honesty, integrity, respect, and professionalism. We work closely with our clients to achieve their dream homes, specializing in full-scale renovations. Our 280 Point Quality Control Checklist, weekly toolbox meetings, and clients’ weekly wrap ensure that every project is executed to perfection.

With over 100 projects completed in the last 7 years, we have a proven track record of satisfied clients who commended our reliability, honesty, and hard-working team.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, three children, and dogs, getting involved in the kids’ sports, gardening at our property in Clive, fishing, and riding motorbikes down at Cape Kidnappers.

My journey to becoming a builder, from schooling at Napier Boys High School to studying certificate in carpentry at EIT, getting qualified and finally becoming a licensed building practitioner, has shaped me into the builder I am today.
