Matt Fenn
Director/LBPRaised in Napier and now residing in Clive with my wife and 3 children, I embarked on my building career 10 years ago at a prominent local construction firm. There, I gained invaluable experience working on diverse projects ranging from modest renovations to large commercial buildings, schools, and upscale custom homes. Eager to focus my passion on renovation work, I joined forces with my father-in-law Peter Hill renovating homes around Hawkes Bay. Qualifying and becoming a Licensed Building Practitioner. Since 2017 we have steadily grown our team and clientele. I feel deeply grateful for the opportunity to do what I love with a great team behind me.
Reuben
Forman CarpenterReuben began his career in construction as a roofer in Hawkes Bay and Fiji. After gaining experience abroad in the UK with building labor and property maintenance, he returned to New Zealand to pursue a builder's apprenticeship, qualifying under the mentorship of Matt. With his varied expertise as a craftsman, Reuben has been an invaluable team member ever since. Reuben takes on our major renovations and bathroom projects as site forman.
Reuben lives in Clive with his wife, dogs and baby on the way. When he's not at work you will find Reuben working on his own house, fishing, playing hockey or camping.
Heitia
CarpenterHeitia joined our team 4 years ago after working as an apprentice with a smaller one-man-band, eager to take on the challenge of major renovations. In his time here, he has not only expanded his skills tremendously, but also enriched our company with his diligence and ingenuity. With his quick thinking and superb craftsmanship, Heitia has proven himself a big asset over the past 4 years. You can find Heitia on our big renovations, bathrooms, and landscaping jobs. In his spare time Heitia likes to spend time with his wife and son, gaming, and working on his own place in Napier.
Louis
Carpenter / JoinerLouis began his career as a joiner at a large local company. After several years, he yearned for a change of scenery and started doing carpentry work on construction sites. Despite my persistent efforts to recruit him, Louis resisted joining my team for months before finally relenting. With his background rooted in joinery, Louis has a keen eye for detail and artistry. As a versatile craftsman, he excels at complex projects and is a valuable team member with a real eye for detail. Louis spends his spare time going to the beach, fixing old cars and helping out his mates.
Matt M
CarpenterMatt joined our team in mid 2023 to assist with flood repairs after returning from a time overseas. His experience across diverse fields makes him an invaluable team member. Since starting, he has rebuilt commercial and residential structures on Pakowhai Road and landscaped a large new home on Napier hill. Matt's expertise and eagerness enables him to readily tackle any task, no matter how dirty or difficult. Matt has his own properties in Hastings that he spends time working on, riding his motorbike, working on his rotarys, and fixing and selling cars.
Doug
OperationsDoug has extensive experience in customer service, HR and management. You can find him in the office, on the end of the phone, organizing, ordering, booking, at meetings, on site, and working on the tools. Doug has a 30+ year career in management and customer relations, so he will be the one who you deal with to provide any solutions on your job. When not working Doug enjoys gardening, spending time with his children and grandchildren, fishing and chilling out.
Bayleigh
Carpentry ApprenticeBayleigh is in his second year of his carpentry apprenticeship with us. He shows a great deal of initiative and enthusiasm, which makes him a very valuable asset. You will mostly find Bayleigh working alongside Reuben, tackling bathroom renovations and other remodeling projects. He is progressing well through his qualification papers and has demonstrated competence in every aspect of the work so far. Bayleigh has a young family who he spends his spare time with, along with detailing cars as a a passion/side job.
Ethan (EJ)
Carpentry ApprenticeEJ is in the second year of his apprenticeship. Working alongside Connor for most of his apprenticeship on two high-end full-house renovations has been extremely beneficial for building his skills quickly as a builder in the renovation scene. In addition to learning carpentry, EJ has also been training in waterproofing. Now EJ can mostly be found working with Louis on renovations. In his spare time, EJ likes four-wheel-driving, fishing, and spending time with his friends.
